What sizes of BIBS pacifiers are available?

Since a child's mouth has a size that matches the rest of the body, it is only natural that there are several different pacifier sizes. Your child's pacifier can therefore advantageously match the child's size. BIBS' size guide recommends size 1 for newborns and up to 5/6 months, size 2 for babies from 6 to 17/18 months, and size 3 for babies over 18 months. In addition, they recommend onesize pacifiers for babies from 0 years to children aged 3 years.

An important note is that all BIBS pacifiers can be used for all ages, as it is not dangerous to give a smaller child a larger pacifier. The recommendations are just recommendations, but small children and babies may prefer smaller pacifiers, just as older children may prefer larger sizes.

Anatomical BIBS pacifiers for newborns and silicone pacifiers

Among BIBS' product range of pacifiers, there are also pacifiers for newborns, which are particularly anatomical, and you can also find silicone pacifiers. The silicone pacifiers are characterized by having a clear nipple, whereas the pacifiers made of natural rubber are typically yellow.

The anatomical pacifiers are characterized by having a flat side. These pacifiers are really good for babies and toddlers, as the round surface of the pacifier's nipple is intended to lie against the palate, while the flat side is intended to face down towards the lower mouth. Because of the flat underside of these pacifiers, your child has plenty of room for the tongue.

The silicone pacifiers from BIBS are, as mentioned earlier, characterized by being clear on the part that the child sucks on. This type of pacifier is very resistant to high temperatures, and the silicone is free of harmful substances and is both hypoallergenic and odorless as well as tasteless.

One disadvantage of silicone pacifiers, however, is that it is recommended to replace them every 4-6 weeks for hygiene reasons. Note that the same applies to latex pacifiers. Both silicone pacifiers and latex pacifiers should be scalded instead of boiled when cleaning them.

Should you choose a flat, round, or symmetrical BIBS pacifier?

There are many different options when it comes to BIBS pacifiers. They are available in different shapes, different sizes, and different materials. The shapes refer to whether the pacifier is round, symmetrical, or anatomical (flat on one side).

Which pacifier you should choose for your child depends on what the child shows a preference for. And since you cannot know in advance, it may be necessary for you to try a little to find out if your child or baby prefers a round, flat, or symmetrical pacifier.

Other choices you have to make regarding your child's pacifier are size and material. The materials of the actual BIBS pacifier nipple are either silicone or natural rubber.
