Having trouble choosing the right size when shopping online?

Don't despair - we have created an easy and clear size guide for you.

Online shopping can be difficult, especially when it comes to sizes. That's why we have created an easy guide for you to find the perfect size. You will also find a detailed guide on how to measure your child's foot, so you can choose the right size.

Below you will find an indicative measurement chart:

Footwear

Buying shoes online can be really difficult when they can't be tried on. Therefore, we have gathered some tips that will hopefully help you choose the right size. All footwear is measured by the inner measurement - the measurements you find on all shoes on the shop. All our shoes are also indicated with fit: Narrow, regular, and regular to wide.

How to measure your child's foot

The easiest method to measure your child's foot is to have the child stand on a hard surface, on a regular piece of A4 paper, possibly with their back against a wall. Make sure the child distributes their weight evenly, then trace an outline of both of the child's feet (remember to measure both feet, as there may be a difference. Go up one size if your child is between two sizes). This way, you can easily measure the length and width. The measurement from the child's heel to the big toe is the foot's length. Then you should add the desired growth allowance, and thus you have easily found the size you should buy for your child. If you already have a pair of shoes that fit your child well, you can take out the insole and measure it - then you will get the inner measurement of the shoe and can easily choose. Example of how to find the right size: The foot measures 17.5 cm. recommended growth allowance is 1.5 cm. so the inner measurement of the shoe should be 19 cm.

How to measure your child's foot

Growth allowance

When buying children's shoes, you should always buy with a growth allowance of 1-1.5 cm. Whether you should buy shoes with a 1 cm growth allowance or 1.5 cm depends on the shoe size and the type of shoe you are buying. For example, it can be difficult for very small children to wear shoes with a 1.5 cm growth allowance. So here you would need to go with a 1 cm growth allowance, as this will be enough and provide the child with high comfort and the best possible mobility. The growth allowance also covers slip allowance. So when you add 1-1.5 cm in growth allowance, you have also taken slip allowance into account, which ensures that there is room for the child's feet to expand/move forward when the child walks.

Hats and summer hats

To easily find the size your child needs, it is important that you measure your child's head. The easiest way to do this is with a measuring tape - place the measuring tape over your child's eyebrows and measure around the ears. Some hats are given in regular clothing sizes in "months," and here you typically choose the one that fits your child's age. But if a hat is given in cm measurements, you should buy according to the circumference of the head.

Petit Crabe

Petit Crabe can be a little difficult to figure out, as their products contain 20% elastane and therefore stretch across several sizes. You can see the size guide below:

Engel Natur

German brand Engel Natur makes beautiful natural products from 100% organic cotton or wool. All cotton is GOTS certified and the wool is organic and certified with GOTS or IVN, which gives you the assurance of a natural product without the use of harsh chemicals. Engel Natur is quality in the natural way. We recommend always going one size up, as Engel Natur runs small in sizes. This applies to both baby, child, and mother.

Tips about wool

Did you know that wool is self-cleaning?

Therefore, we recommend that you air out the clothes regularly.

Washing instructions:

If you don't want to wash your wool by hand, you can do it on a wool program. Always remember to use soap/detergent suitable for wool. Look for lanolin in the product description when buying wool detergent. Wash on a wool program with wool detergent (and only wool detergent). Do not use fabric softener. Zippers/velcro straps should be closed during washing. The wool should be dried lying flat, for example, by laying it flat on a table - this way you avoid it from wrinkling. The wool should be reshaped after washing.

IMPORTANT: Do not wash your wool garments in water that is too hot. Wool should always be washed on a wool program (or by hand).

A good tip:

We recommend always storing your wool garments in airtight bags, paper bags are okay as long as they seal tightly. Place a small fabric bag with dried lavender or bay leaves among the wool garments. This keeps both clothes moths and fur moths away.

We recommend wool for both small and big. Wool is also always a safe choice if you are looking for a christening gift - whether it is for a boy or a girl.

Why we only have the best wool⠀

We carefully select all our organic and sustainable brands and products. This means that as a customer, you can safely shop with us!.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We have the purest wool products of the highest quality for baby, child, and mother! Wool from free-range sheep is very difficult to certify as organic, as it is not possible to control and document 100% what the sheep eat - But if you stick to merino wool and 100% pure wool, you can't go wrong. We do not have "superwash" wool, also known as mercerized wool. (It should be stated on a product if it is superwashed or mercerized wool).

This type of wool is characterized by being easy to handle and typically can withstand up to 40 degrees in the washing machine, without any specific program requirements.

Konges Sløjd

We recommend buying one size smaller than usual, as Konges Sløjd often runs large in sizes.
