Pajamas or onesie?

The little baby lies quite still when it sleeps. Therefore, it does not twist its nightwear completely crooked, as older children can do. On the other hand, the little baby has a big diaper on, and it can also take up some space in the nightwear. It can be an advantage to have a onesie for the very small babies. Then you can be sure that the nightwear stays where it should, and if you are unlucky and the diaper is not completely tight, a onesie can also help keep things in place.

When the little children become old enough to take care of pulling their nightwear together themselves, and possibly start throwing away the diaper, it is a good idea to switch to pajamas. It is more flexible than the onesie, and it is easier for the child to take off and put on, if they need to go to the toilet now that the diaper is gone.

The slightly older children usually really want to be involved in taking off and putting on their clothes. And that's great. But it can be difficult for them to manage a onesie that needs to be closed with a lot of buttons. Therefore, pajamas or nightgowns are a smart solution when children themselves need to be involved in dressing and undressing.

Nightwear in wool or cotton?

Whether you should buy nightwear in wool or cotton is a matter of taste. In winter, wool can be a good idea, as it is great for keeping warm, but in summer, cotton nightwear can be more comfortable.

Both materials have good properties, which come into their own in different ways and at different times. Wool has a reputation for being itchy and difficult to wash, but that is not the case with most modern wool. It is so soft and fine that everyone can tolerate wearing it.

Wool should be washed gently, but most wool can be washed on the wool program in the machine with wool detergent. On the other hand, it only needs to be washed if it gets really dirty. Wool is largely self-cleaning, so it can be taken care of with airing.
