What can a cloth diaper be used for?
When you have a baby, you can never have too many cloth diapers. The cloth diaper can be used in many contexts - for example, as a burp cloth, changing cloth, in the diaper bag and on the changing table. Therefore, cloth diapers have gradually become an essential part of the everyday life of parents of young children.
At Naturebaby.dk we also carry swaddles in the same delicious organic cotton as the cloth diapers. With a swaddle, you can swaddle your baby, so it feels completely enveloped and safe just like in the womb. A swaddle is approx. 120 x 120 cm, where a cloth diaper is approx. 70 x 70 cm. It is therefore much larger than a cloth diaper and can easily accommodate a small baby. It is also large enough to serve as a light summer blanket when it is hot.
Why should you have cloth diapers?
The cloth diaper is indispensable when you have a baby. It can be used as a burp cloth, to cover the sun, as a thin blanket, as a pad on the changing table, to wipe up spilled milk, as a bib when you have forgotten one. And when the baby gets too big to use cloth diapers, you can use them as cotton cloths for cleaning for example.
The cloth diaper is undoubtedly an old workhorse. It has existed since our mother was a boy, and probably even longer. It has been used on the butt and on the head and for all sorts of other purposes. And it still holds up. One is tempted to say no baby without cloth diapers.
Cloth diapers are made of deliciously soft cotton, which has a really good absorbency, and which is gentle on the baby's skin. Remember to wash your new cloth diapers before you use them to get them to absorb as best as possible.
How many do you need?
Although the concept of cloth diaper is old, it has kept up with the times. Today, a cloth diaper is not just a white square piece of cotton fabric. Today you can get modern cloth diapers in all sorts of beautiful colors and patterns, from brands like Liewood, Cam Cam, Konges Sløjd and Disana. You can also get the white ones, but be aware that a cloth diaper can quickly get dirty. Therefore, we recommend that you acquire up to 20-25 pieces, as the baby can easily use 6-8 cloth diapers in a day.
How to wash the cloth diapers
The cloth diapers can be washed hot with your other boiling clothes. That way you ensure that they are completely clean for the next time you need to use them. Remember to wash them with similar colors! When you wash your cloth diapers hot, it is hard on the cloth diapers. Therefore, you should probably prepare to supplement along the way when your diapers become too worn.
What do cloth diapers cost?
At Naturebaby.dk we always have cloth diapers at a fixed low price. We do this so you can be sure to get cloth diapers at a price that is affordable. It is also possible to buy packages with several cloth diapers at a time. That way you can save a little compared to buying them individually.
Our very own 100% organic cloth diapers are all made of organic cotton, which is woven tightly, to give the best feeling of quality when you use them. We carry cloth diapers in many beautiful colors and with different patterns on. So you can find just the ones that appeal to you the most.
Cloth diapers can become your best friend!
There is simply no way around it - when you have a child, there is a mess. A lot of mess. Diaper changes, spit-up, drooling and later chaotic eating situations, all of which will create more work for you. But don't worry - cloth diapers can become your best friend. You will use many of them, even more than you think is possible, so stock up before your little one arrives. Trust us- you will be glad you did.
Not only do these cloth diapers become softer with each wash, but they also become more absorbent. A good tip when you use them for the first time is to soak the fabrics in cold water before you wash them. Cotton is a natural material that is known to be soft, comfortable, breathable and extremely durable - making it one of the most used textiles in the world. That's why you see cotton in most everyday clothing items and in cloth diapers. The only problem with cotton is that it tends to absorb too much water and dry slowly. When used in cloth diapers, however, this slow-drying property does not apply, as a cloth diaper is not worn in the same way as normal clothes.
Organic cloth diapers of high quality
Diapers made of organic cotton have the advantage that they are free of chemical pesticides. This means that they are usually made of higher quality materials, but with the same durability as regular cotton. They can be a new parent's best friend as they are practical for everything from breastfeeding to cuddling and providing shade. Cloth diapers can be used multiple times - you just throw them in the washing machine. They get clean again, even if they are white. An increasing number of people are replacing disposable diapers with cloth diapers. However, there are advantages and disadvantages to both types. It really depends on what conditions you want your child to be exposed to while constantly wearing a diaper. Most people use disposable diapers because they are more practical, but cloth diapers have other advantages. A cloth diaper is, for example, made of natural materials like cotton, which is better for your child's skin. In the end, the best type of diaper depends on your individual family life and what works best for you.
A cloth diaper is more than just a diaper
Many children find it reassuring to be protected from stimuli when they are brand new. The newborn baby is bombarded with sensory impressions when it has just come out of the mother's womb, and it doesn't take much before it becomes overwhelmed.
Here a light and soft cloth diaper can actually do wonders. This applies not only in the stroller, but also in many other situations where some small children may have difficulty concentrating on either breastfeeding or falling asleep if they constantly have to look around.
A cloth diaper can also serve as a pad on the changing pad, so you can easily and quickly clean up after small accidents. It can also serve as a comfort blanket when your child needs to sleep. The possibilities are many, and one thing is certain - cloth diapers are almost indispensable for parents of young children.
